The Daily Routine

A day at Kindalin is full of new and exciting things, but it also follows a predictable structure so that your child can feel comfortable knowing what to expect next.

The day includes a combination of active and quiet times, opportunities for group and independent learning, adult supported and child initiated exploration, with time spent both in and outdoors.

Meal times, hand washing, toileting and a rest period are also important parts of the daily routine.

Active Learning

We focus on exploratory, investigative learning, project investigations and allowing the children’s own interests to guide the learning experiences.

Across indoor and outdoor environments, we overlay their curiosity across a project structure that incorporates our Five Key Learning Areas and The EYLF.

Fresh & Nutritious Meals

Children at Kindalin enjoy four mealtimes every day, which we see as a big opportunity.

We worked with Dietitian Fiona Kupresanin to design and optimise our menu for children's tastes and ensured we follow the 'Australian Guidelines for Healthy Eating'.

Featuring delicious, whole foods-based recipes, lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, low-GI foods and culturally sensitive proteins that kids love. Our rotating menu includes options for vegetarians and children with allergies.

Amongst all the variety, the children have a few favourites:

  • Tuscan Lamb & Bean Casserole with wholemeal couscous
  • Beef and Vegetable Ragu with pasta
  • Vegetable platter & Vita-Wheat crackers with tzatziki dip
  • Wholemeal toast with avocado and sliced tomato

The menu is posted daily on the Kindalin App, so you know what your children are eating each day.

Every Kindalin centre is a registered Food Business and operates an on-site commercial-grade kitchen with a dedicated chef who creates our meals fresh and daily.

Learning Stations

Equipped with fun tools to spark imaginations, our learning stations are set up for children of all ages to create, learn and discover.

Our reading, art, writing, construction and music hubs put the learning in their own hands, helping to develop their initiative and independent skills.

Room groups

At Kindalin the children are able to participate in a variety of experiences individually, in small groups or as part of a larger group. The children are grouped into the following Room Groups including the;

Playful Possums (0 – 2 ½ years)
Eager Emus (2 ½ - 3 ½ years)
Cuddly Koalas (3 ½ - 4 years)
Wonderful Wombats (4-5 years)

Within each Room Group, Kindalin Educators plan and implement experiences, working in partnership with families to best meet children’s individual needs.

Indoor and outdoors

Kindalin Educators support children’s explorations and investigations in both environments through intentional teaching, prompting and questioning, guiding and scaffolding children’s discoveries and learning.

Kindalin's network of nine centres.

The Kindalin network of nine centres is built upon a depth of experience and advanced knowledge acquired over 30+ years. Our shared learnings benefit the Kindalin team members and our families across all locations, where sharing ideas and expertise is supported via networking opportunities. Events such as Directors' meetings, Room Coordinator meetings, Mentoring Programs, Kindalin Team Conferences, and Kindalin Staff Seminars are all in a day's work at Kindalin.
