When we came across some art works of the Kelly gang, Jessica wanted to know who painted the pictures.. and so began our study into the art of Sidney Nolan.

We examined the techniques he used in his paintings. Colours, brush strokes, shapes and proportions. We then set about recreating his paintings - through our own eyes.

The group were encouraged to break their art into stages and revisit their work once they’d learnt a bit more about Nolan’s techniques. They built on their paintings, re-evaluating and extending their thought processes on the piece of art they were working on.
