No.5 Imprints

When a group of the younger preschoolers were exploring the Playdough table, they discovered rollers that left small hand and footprint marks on the dough. So we all started making our own hand imprints in the dough.

The children noticed that their hand prints were much smaller than the adults. We talked about how they’re growing every day, and how one day they’d have big hands too.We learnt we could blend paint colours with our fingers, and leave imprints on paper with our feet and hands.

The group decided to find other things to touch and explore. We played with some slimy goo, felt some soft wool, and had fun sprinkling dry sand through our fingers in the sandpit. We soon discovered that when the sand was wet, we could compact it to make more hand imprints – as well as impressive sandcastles!
