Ian shared his insights and gave practical ideas to build resilient positive behaviours in children. He discussed strategies to help build positive behaviours which included:
- Using positive language and a confident tone of voice
- Having rules and sticking to these
- Labelling the behaviour not the child
- Behaviour Management starts from a young age and 80% is non verbal
- Praise children’s attempts and not the outcomes
- Let children be aware when parents make mistakes and that adults are not perfect
- Consistency is everything
The night concluded with a question and answer session for parents.
